The Beauty of Being Brown
My work is inspired by my rejection of trivial beauty standards. I want to show that beauty is found in brown skin and brown features by focusing on being brown, nature, storytelling, and color/shape coordination. I portray women as the powerful individuals they are through the use of flowers as a symbol of femininity. In this way I also tend to incorporate nature because I am an environmentalist and an earth lover. Through my film photographs I hope to illustrate the beauty of being brown.
