(NYC) Pride Without Prejudice 2019
This year, I was lucky enough to be in New York for the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, and got to spend the day at all the amazing Pride events. I loved being in such a safe, bittersweet, and celebratory space as we remembered the hardships fought for then, and for queer liberation now.
Though there was a lingering feeling of eeriness as we honoured those who battled for the community, there was so much joy, laughter and color. Pink was seen everywhere, across all people, ages, and genders; living a life free of societal pressures, and being able to express who they are.
