Eclipse on a Parking Garage

 

 

This piece is my love letter to women. I wanted to show the solidarity, intimacy, and sanctuary that comes with female friendships through movement. The choreography is derived from a piece called "Primavera" that I created for a live performance on a proscenium stage. I chose to break down the choreography into its simplest form, focusing on the basic movements, gestures, and poses that would isolate this at-ease feeling and strip away anything else. This piece, for me, is that warm-blanket that wraps around you when you are surrounded by women who support and inspire you.
