Frances Sousa is a Toronto based artist and previous contributor to Pink Things. By experimenting with mediums, materials, and matter, Frances Sousa explores emotions using action, color, and glitter. Taking serious subject matters and working through them using 'playful' materials, Frances's work leaps from child's play to abstract conceptual art. Her latest series, Angst, created with acrylic paint, gouache, and glitter, contains an aesthetic that is "both turbulent and soft, reminiscent of angst in such a way that is regrettably taken lightly or made fun of," according to the artist.
